Tourism Nova Scotia’s winter advertising campaign encourages Atlantic Canadians to keep exploring through the colder months by showcasing enticing winter getaways and packages. Your business could be featured on the campaign landing page with a winter travel package – giving you more profile and an opportunity to connect with potential customers.
A travel package combines two or more tourism activities, experiences, or products for a single price and point of sale to make it convenient and easy for travellers to purchase and plan their trip in Nova Scotia. Packages can inspire travellers to try new places or experiences as well as encourage repeat customers who already love your business and would like to experience it in another way.
What packages can you offer through your business? What offers could be available through partnerships? Focus on what makes your package unique and appealing to your target market, including Maritime travellers. Consider the uniquely Nova Scotia packages you can offer around outdoor adventure, family fun, cultural and culinary experiences. Could you offer a cozy room with woodstove or outdoor hot tub plus a meal at nearby restaurant featuring local flavours? Provide tickets for a day of skiing or fat biking tour plus local hot chocolate to warm up? Perhaps a cozy room plus certificate to a night at the theatre or pub featuring Nova Scotia musicians?
Here are some tips to help you create winter packages and make the most of this promotional opportunity:
- Leverage winter events – Festivals and events are back! Consider tying your package to a festival or event that is taking place in your community. This can help increase the appeal for both your business offering and the event, while delivering on the theme of the event. For example, Evergreen Stays is an opportunity to offer accommodation packages during Evergreen Festival in Halifax. The Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl is returning in February and businesses on the South Shore can create lobster-themed packages and be featured as part of the event line up.
- Connect with a Partner – Collaborate with another local business to create a tourism package that benefits you both and adds value for your customers. For example, you could offer a two-night stay at your accommodation with a seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant. Or a snowshoe tour with a picnic prepared with local ingredients by a partnering café.
