Monday, April 15, 2024

In this half-day workshop presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council, attendees will learn how Indigenous tourism can play a vital role in educating and sharing authentic Mi’kmaw culture, building economic opportunities and developing meaningful partnerships. During this session, participants will be introduced to the concept of reconciliation in action as it relates to the tourism sector and how using a "Two Eyed Seeing" approach can create better understanding between people and supporting a more competitive tourism industry for the future.

Robert owns a specialized engagement firm that works to create paths towards understanding of the Mi’kmaw people and other Indigenous nations.  The business objective is to lead through a journey that will identify and promote Indigenous history, ways of life, cultural beliefs, traditional protocols as well as to identify opportunities that may exist in many different sectors including tourism.
