Message from Minister Pat Dunn for National Tourism Week:
Tourism creates jobs and business opportunities in every region of our province. It also helps create vibrant communities by showcasing our culture and heritage, supporting festivals and events that bring people together, and giving people ways to experience our beautiful coastlines.
Prior to the pandemic, tourism was a $2.6 billion industry in Nova Scotia. Now the industry is on the rebound, and we are once again receiving visitors from around the world. Our marketing campaigns are letting people know that Nova Scotia is open and ready to welcome you!
This Tourism Week, we are encouraging everyone to Travel Now! For work, life and play. Please watch this short message from Premier Tim Houston encouraging people to visit Nova Scotia this year.
While there is much work ahead of us, together we will rebuild a sustainable tourism industry that benefits all communities in Nova Scotia.
Pat Dunn,
Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage
