United Airlines has announced a new nonstop service to Chicago O’Hare, adding to the growing list of US cities with direct connections to Halifax. The once-daily flight to Chicago will begin June 6. As one of the largest hubs in the country, Chicago offers excellent connectivity to destinations in the Midwest, West, Central and Southern United States.
American Airlines has announced seasonal direct service to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and seasonal direct service to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, with both routes taking off in June. While direct flights between New York and Halifax are currently available, this new Saturday flight is specifically designed to appeal to pleasure visitors.
WestJet announced new seasonal direct flights between Halifax and Dublin, Ireland beginning April 29 and running until October.
On average, visitors arriving by air tend to spend the most during their stay in Nova Scotia. Developing direct air connections with our target markets helps to attract more first-time visitors, by making it even easier to get here.
We’re thrilled to see these new air connections and Tourism Nova Scotia will continue to support Halifax Stanfield International Airport in exploring new markets for direct routes.
