From July 15 to 23, the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) 2023 will host competitions in 16 sports within 21 venues across Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth, Millbrook First Nation, and Sipekne'katik.
NAIG 2023 will bring together more than 5,000 athletes, coaches, and team staff from over 756 Indigenous Nations celebrating, sharing, and reconnecting through sport and culture. NAIG will have athletes competing in 16 different sports with three traditional Indigenous sports: Canoe/Kayak, Lacrosse, and 3D Archery. The three traditional sports will have a special opening ceremony to begin each event.

Hosting NAIG is an incredible opportunity for Nova Scotia! We will be welcoming thousands of participants from across North America. From volunteering, to attending events, to sharing warm Nova Scotia hospitality with visitors, there are lots of ways to be part of the Games.

- Step One: Create an offer. These are promotions that members can offer to people with accreditation passes on the NAIG lanyards, allowing them to access deals.

NAIG 2023 Kwitn Asu'nmatultimk (Canoe Relay)
From May 1 to July 7, celebrate the Canoe Relay journey across the Mi’kmaw communities of Nova Scotia. The traditional birch bark canoe, made by Todd Labrador, will make 15 stops bringing each community together to support Mi’kmaw athletes before the Games.
