Welcome Sheryl Walker!
Sheryl Walker has joined Tourism Nova Scotia as Director, Human Resources. She has over 17 years of broad HR experience within both private and government sectors, and she most recently served as Human Resources Director with the Housing Authorities.
As part of Tourism Nova Scotia’s senior leadership team, Sheryl oversees the development and implementation of the HR strategic plan and is a key advisor to the CEO, COO, managers and supervisors on HR matters.
Sheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University, along with an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources.

Welcome Zandra Alexander!
Zandra Alexander has joined Tourism Nova Scotia’s corporate communications team as Communications Advisor and is the main media contact for corporate communications. Zandra brings a wide range of expertise relating to strategic communication, media relations, issue management and stakeholder engagement. Previously, she held roles at Ryerson University, Ketchum Public Relations, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Zandra holds a Bachelor of Arts, High Honours in Political Science and Communications from Carleton University and a Master’s Degree in Professional Communication from Ryerson University. She has roots in both Nova Scotia and New Zealand.

Congratulations Janette Wallace!
Janette Wallace has taken a new position as Travel Media Specialist with Tourism Nova Scotia’s market development team.
Janette will help lead the strategic development, promotion and delivery of our media relations activities and partnerships in two of our key markets – China and the United Kingdom. She will be using her extensive product knowledge and industry relations experience to help raise awareness of Nova Scotia as a vacation destination and generate positive media coverage for the province.
Janette has many years of experience with Tourism Nova Scotia, most recently with our sector development team as Quality Advisor, and previously as a Development Officer, working closely with Nova Scotia suppliers, promoting our quality programs, and supporting the development of industry and new tourism businesses. Prior to this role, Janette held several positions with visitor services, which provided her with extensive product knowledge of Nova Scotia as well as strong customer service and sales skills in both official languages. She attended Université Sainte -Anne and Université du Québec – Chicoutimi, where she obtained diplomas in French Immersion Studies.

Congratulations Nick Fry!
Nick Fry has joined the business development team as Acting Manager of Business Development. Nick has worked in government for over 12 years and has been with Tourism Nova Scotia since 2013, most recently as an Experience Development Advisor. He has worked closely with industry to help develop new visitor experiences and improve competitiveness.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Business from Mount Allison University, completed the Leadership Development Program for Managers in 2018, and has held acting management assignments in experience development.
In his new role, Nick will oversee the administration of the accommodation licensing process and current business development programs, and will identify new tourism business development opportunities.
