The Province of Nova Scotia is investing $110,000 in infrastructure enhancements at the Annapolis Royal Farmers and Traders Market through the Tourism Revitalization of Icons Program.
The Bay of Fundy, including Annapolis Royal, is one of five iconic sites identified for funding through the program. These sites have a high level of recognition nationally and internationally, ultimately helping motivate travel to the province.
Situated along the iconic Bay of Fundy, historic Annapolis Royal is well positioned to offer unique and authentic Nova Scotia experiences. The Annapolis Royal Farmers and Traders Market is one of the largest outdoor farm markets in Atlantic Canada, and offers visitors an opportunity to connect with Nova Scotia’s artisans, farmers and producers.
The funding will support additional amenities such as an expanded visitor-focused retail space and washrooms that will help address a gap in services identified by the Town of Annapolis Royal, and increase the appeal of the market for visitors. At the same time, this new space will provide additional retail opportunities for businesses.
The Government of Canada through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Town of Annapolis Royal are also contributing to the project. Read the press release for more information.
