Neil Black Appointed to Tourism Nova Scotia Board of Directors

Neil Black of Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., will join Tourism Nova Scotia’s board of directors. His appointment was announced today, Oct. 22, by Geoff MacLellan, minister responsible for Tourism Nova Scotia.

“Mr. Black has considerable marketing, finance and management experience and will be a great addition to Tourism Nova Scotia’s board,” said Mr. MacLellan. “I want to thank him for his interest in growing Nova Scotia’s tourism industry and welcome him to the team.”

Mr. Black is a retired financial consultant and real estate broker. In addition to operating his own mortgage brokerage, he has held management positions at Nova Scotia Savings and Loans Company, The Bank of Montreal, American Manor Corporation and Century 21. Mr. Black has also held positions on numerous volunteer boards and committees.

“It is an exciting and important time for Tourism Nova Scotia,” said board chair Irene d’Entremont. “Neil’s expertise and insights will be valuable as we continue to execute our strategy to grow export tourism revenues and lead the industry toward the goal of $4 billion in annual tourism revenue by 2024.”

Tourism Nova Scotia’s skills-based board is made up of business leaders from across Nova Scotia. Directors are appointed to the board based on a nomination process. Mr. Black’s appointment brings the board to full complement.
